Who are we and why are you here?
We’re a team of experienced Canadian equestrian coaches and Master Coach Developers (we develop coaches and athletes) dedicated to supporting and empowering the broader equestrian coaching community.
With over 60 years of combined experience, we’re building a growing library of practical, proven resources to help you develop stronger athletes, keep your lessons engaging and effective, and continue evolving as a coach. Our goal is to create a space where coaches can connect, learn, and access the tools and education needed to elevate their coaching practice — and in turn, their students — at every level.
Coach Beyond the Arena was founded by:
- Ruth Allum – EC NCCP Competition Development (HP1) – Eventing, NCCP ACD Certified Coach, and NCCP Master Coach Developer
- Helen Richardson – EC NCCP Certified Competition Coach Specialist – Eventing, and NCCP Master Coach Developer
- Emma Stanley – EC NCCP Competition Coach English, with sport development and communications experience in Water Polo, Gymnastics, and Equestrian sport.

Our lesson plans are all designed using an Athlete Skill Development Matrix created to target train specific foundational flatwork, jumping and equestrian skills that athletes in the english equestrian disciplines require to ride successfully.
