We have put together a basic packing list of 'EXTRAS' for the first time 3-Day Eventer.

Remember that this list is meant to be combined with your regular one day Horse Trial packing list,

and is a guideline only, not a shopping list!

 

Extra Braiding Supplies

- horses are to be braided for Horse Inspections and for Dressage, so be sure to have stocked up on your braiding supplies

Jog Up Outfit(s)

- It is customary to “dress up” a bit for the inspections – khakis and a nice shirt, jacket and tie for men, etc.  Remember, however, that you will be RUNNING to keep up with your horse, so wear sensible shoes, and avoid anything that might fly away such as unsecured scarves or hats.

Stocked Grooming Kit

Including cleaning products for your horse such as shampoos, show sheen, hoof oil, etc… to make your horse immaculate for

Horse Inspections and for the competition

Water Buckets (and something to attach them to your stall)

Feed Bucket

Hay

Grain

Manure Bucket (or wheelbarrow)

Pitchfork

Chairs

Writing Paper & Pen

Horse Blanket(s)

- Cooler or anti-sweat for your horse if the weather demands it

Basic First Aid Kit

Big Buckets for the 10 minute box and cool out area

Extra shoes for your horse

these should be labeled (i.e., RF, LF, etc.).

On endurance day, put in appropriate studs for your spares, so they can be quickly tacked on in the 10 minute box

Sweat Scrapers

Large Sponges

Stud Kit

Bandages

Leather Hole Punch

Index Cards, Clear Tape and Marker

Extra ANYTHING that might break on phases A, B, C

- reins, stirrup leathers, etc….
